WHERE WILL CAMP BE LOCATED?
Both camps will be located at Camp Sparta in Sebring, FL, just 2 hours from our Radiant Church – Heights Location.
WHAT SHOULD I PACK?
Don’t leave home without the following:
- Your Bible (obvi)
- Notebook (the sermons are going to be noteworthy)
- Pen (as the saying goes, “The pen is mightier than the sword”)
- Sunscreen, workout clothes, tennis shoes, SWIMSUIT, and water bottle.
- Toothbrush and other toiletries (please and thank you)
- Things to leave at home: cell phones, tablets, gaming systems, weapons, bad attitudes, drugs, alcohol, lighters, and anything you wouldn’t want your grandmother to see.
CAN GRADUATED FIFTH GRADERS ATTEND MS CAMP?
Yes! This is a great opportunity for them to start & further new friendships in Radiant YTH
WHAT KIND OF FINANCIAL AID IS AVAILABLE?
You can enroll for a payment plan, which allows you to break your payment up into smaller payments throughout the year.
We will not let a student miss Summer Camp because of finances. Financial aid is available. Apply here.
CAN GRADUATED SENIORS (‘25) ATTEND HS CAMP?
No, but we would LOVE for you to use your influence and consider registering as a Leader in MS Camp!
WHAT HAPPENS IF I HAVE TO CANCEL?
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds.
If your student can no longer attend Summer Camp, you can send someone in their place by connecting with the YTH Director at your campus.
WHAT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WILL BE TAKEN?
Every adult serving in our YTH Ministry is required to have a background check.
Lifeguards: Certified lifeguards at all swimming and water-related activities.
Staff background checks: Background checks on all staff members to ensure that they have no history of child abuse or neglect.
First aid and emergency preparedness: Staff members in first aid and emergency preparedness, and make sure that all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
All food is prepared, stored, and served according to food safety guidelines. The Camp Sparta Head Chef will be on location to also support dietary restrictions.
Transportation safety: Charter bus transportation ensures that all drivers are properly licensed and trained.
Camper-to-staff ratios: Our 6:1 camper ration ensures campers are properly supervised and safe.
Communication: Parents and Guardians will be added to a communication system to provide detailed information about the safety protocols in place at the camp and how they can contact the camp in case of an emergency.
WHAT ARE THE CABIN ASSIGNMENTS?
- Each cabin will be separated by gender, location, and team
- Guy cabins will be on the opposite side of the campgrounds of our Girls cabins
- Room checks will occur every night at 11:30PM by Camp Rec Team and security staff and volunteers.
DOES MY CHILD NEED EXTRA MONEY AT CAMP?
No, this is an all-inclusive camp. But there will be a gift shop open during free time hours where students can purchase snacks/ snow cones, and Camp Sparta merchandise should you/they be interested. YTH will be responsible for carrying their own money.
WHAT DIETARY CONSIDERATIONS ARE BEING TAKEN?
Camp Sparta’s head chef will be present to accommodate any dietary restrictions. This will need to be included in your registration to ensure your YTH is covered in our dietary requests.
WHAT IS THE SUMMER CAMP PHONE POLICY?
To ensure Summer Camp is a distraction-free environment where students can fully engage, we ask that no cell phones, tablets, laptops, or gaming devices be brought to camp. Removing these distractions allows students to step out of their usual routines and creates space for them to connect with Jesus in meaningful ways. For emergencies, we will provide three contact points before camp begins. Additionally, all leaders, staff, and pastors will have cell phones and can reach you if necessary.
WHAT ARE THE MEDICATION PROTOOLS?
- YTH who take medication must bring only what is needed for the duration of the event in a clear bag.
- We will collect and document all medication during check-in at Radiant Heights, and our Camp Nurse Team and your YTH’s Team Leader will be notified.
- Camp Nurse Team will be available throughout Camp, with an assigned time for YTH taking medication.
WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?
- Yes, your child can bring their own snacks. (Especially ones their cabin leaders would like ;))
- There will be sensory options available throughout camp for any YTH who need a quiet and calm place to recoup.
- We can accommodate team and room preferences the best we can, but we strongly believe your YTH will make new friends and have a great time!
